To create a raised surface for a textile a rotating needle drum is used to tease the fibres out slightly. As a result the textile is given more volume and the loosened structure gives a more attractive visual appearance. Due to the increase in volume there is more free space in the textile structure, improving its heat insulation properties.

We can produce, using woven, knitted and circular knitted fabrics, different types of raised textiles including velours, semi-velvets, velvets, fleece and high quality automotive textiles using our specialized raising machines.

The raising process results in the textile width being reduced.
